Trip check-in and check-out process

Complete guide to starting and ending your Ridee trip properly

Your Ridee journey begins and ends with a few simple steps designed to protect both guests and hosts, ensure accountability and keep every trip smooth, safe and enjoyable.

Checking In for Your Trip

Before you can drive off, you'll need to complete the Ridee Check-In process using the app or web platform.

This confirms your identity, ensures the vehicle's condition is properly recorded and lets your host know you're ready to start your trip.

Here's How It Works

  1. Confirm your identity: Use the in-app prompts to upload a quick selfie and a photo of your driver's license for verification
  2. Inspect the car: Take clear, well-lit photos of all sides of the vehicle (front, back, and both sides). This protects you and your host from later misunderstandings
  3. Review key details: Check the car's fuel or battery level, mileage and any listed "Extras"
  4. Meet your host or unlock remotely: Depending on your booking, you'll either meet your host in person or use a Ridee-approved smart lock to access the car
  5. Begin your trip: Once you've completed check-in and everything looks good, you're free to hit the road

Tip: Always communicate with your host via the in-app chat for safety and accountability.

During Your Trip

While on the road, treat the car as you would your own:

  • Follow all local traffic laws and speed limits
  • Keep the car clean and smoke-free
  • Notify your host immediately if anything unusual occurs (e.g. mechanical issues or delays)

If you'd like to extend your trip, you can request more time through the "Modify Trip" option in your Ridee dashboard. Extensions are subject to host approval.

Checking Out and Returning the Car

At the end of your trip, the Check-Out process ensures both parties agree on the vehicle's return condition and that your trip closes properly in the system.

Steps for a Smooth Check-Out

  1. Return on time and to the right location: Whether it's a Ridee drop-off point, a host's preferred location, or your arranged spot, punctuality helps maintain your reliability score
  2. Refuel or recharge: Refill the tank or recharge the battery to the same level it was at check-in, unless your trip includes a prepaid fuel or charge option
  3. Take return photos: Snap new photos of the vehicle's exterior and interior to document its return condition
  4. Complete digital check-out: Mark your trip as complete in the app or web portal. You'll also be prompted to rate your experience and leave feedback for your host
  5. Confirm host approval: Once the host verifies your return, your trip will officially close and your deposit will be released within the standard timeline

If you're unable to meet your host, encounter unexpected issues with the vehicle, or experience delays, contact Ridee Support immediately through the in-app chat or at support@ridee.ai.
